What Pro Bono Legal Services Mean
“Pro bono” legal services are provided without charging professional legal fees.
Clients may, however, remain responsible for: • Court fees • Government charges • Filing costs • Third-party or out-of-pocket expenses
Eligibility for Pro Bono Assistance
Pro bono services are intended for individuals and organizations who demonstrate genuine need.
Eligibility may include:
• Individuals with limited financial means
• Senior citizens under financial distress
• Persons with disabilities
• Survivors of domestic or family violence with no means to support their rights
• Non-profit organizations and social initiatives with no substantive legal budget
• Matters involving public interest or social impact
Types of Matters Considered
The firm may consider pro bono assistance in limited matters, including but not limited to:
• Family law matters (maintenance, custody, protection issues)
• Employment and labour disputes
• Basic criminal law assistance (such as bail or legal guidance)
• Property, tenancy, or housing-related disputes
• Legal support for registered non-profit organizations
• Matters involving access to basic rights or public welfare
